Revision Lipo360 in Tampa, FL: When Fat Removal Is Not Enough
Removing fat is only half the equation. When skin has stretched from weight changes, tightening it separates a crisp result from a loose one. Revision liposuction often calls for both, and this patient was a clear example.
The Patient’s Story
She had already been through one round of body contouring. At 34, working in cybersecurity in New York, she came back wanting more from the result.
She was happy enough with the direction, but not the degree. Now she wanted a flatter stomach and a noticeably slimmer frame overall, from her arms to her inner thighs.
Her history of significant weight changes had left mild skin laxity, which meant fat removal alone would not deliver the tight result she had in mind. Dr. Manik S. Bedi planned for both.
The Plan
Slimming a frame that has already been treated takes a different approach than a first-time procedure. Dr. Bedi, a triple-board-certified cosmetic surgeon, paired fat removal with two skin-tightening technologies.
- Lipo360 across the full body, from the arms to the inner thighs, front and back
- Pixel8 radiofrequency microneedling to tighten skin from the surface
- Renuvion® (J-Plasma) to tighten skin beneath the surface
Pairing the two tightening technologies addressed her laxity at two depths, which matters more in a patient whose skin has already been stretched once.
The Procedure
- Surgeon: Dr. Manik S. Bedi
- Anesthesia: General anesthesia
- Duration: Approximately 2.5 hours
The procedure was performed at Tampa Surgical Arts’ AAAHC-accredited surgery center in Odessa.
Using custom curved cannulas, Dr. Bedi sculpted the full torso, arms, and inner thighs, working around the areas her first procedure had treated. Renuvion was then applied beneath the skin to encourage contraction, and Pixel8 treated the surface layer.
Treating the skin at both depths is what allows a slimmer contour to hold its shape rather than settle into looseness.
The Recovery Journey
Her recovery followed the standard body contouring timeline, with compression doing much of the work.
- Day of Surgery: She was on her feet the same day.
- Week 1: Waist trainer and a custom faja, the compression garment worn after body contouring, kept on 23 hours a day, with regular lymphatic drainage massages.
- Week 2: Compression continued, with light cardio cleared.
- Week 6: Cleared for everything, from the pool to the gym.
- 3 Months: More than half the swelling resolved.
- 9 Months: The last of the swelling resolved, revealing her final contour.
Before & After
A slimmer frame from the arms down, with skin that kept up.
Results may vary.
The Results
She got the slimmer look she came in for.
Her stomach is flatter, her torso narrower, and the slimming carries through her arms and inner thighs rather than stopping at the midsection. The skin tightening kept the contour crisp, which often separates a good revision result from a disappointing one.
“I’m so happy with my results.”
Dr. Bedi’s Perspective
“This patient had mild skin laxity from significant weight changes, which is common and easy to underestimate. Removing more fat without addressing the skin would have worked against her goal.
For anyone considering a round 2, timing matters. We generally recommend waiting about a year after the first procedure so the tissue has fully settled.”

Is Revision Body Contouring Right for You?
A second round makes the most sense for patients who:
- Were happy with the direction of their first result but wanted more from it
- Have mild skin laxity from weight changes or a previous procedure
- Want slimming across multiple areas rather than one
- Are at least a year out from their first surgery
- Are healthy enough for surgery and willing to commit to compression garments
Not every result needs a second round, and not every concern is about fat. Whether the answer is more contouring, skin tightening, or both depends on what your consultation reveals.
Explore What a Second Round Could Do
If your first procedure got you partway there, the next step is understanding what is holding the rest back. Sometimes that means more contouring. Sometimes it means tightening the skin you already have. Dr. Bedi sees patients at the Odessa Surgery Center, serving Tampa Bay and welcoming many who travel in from out of state. FAQs
Can you treat that many areas in one surgery?
Yes. This patient had her torso, arms, and inner thighs treated in a single 2.5-hour procedure. Treating multiple areas together keeps proportions consistent and consolidates recovery into one window rather than several.
What is the difference between Pixel8 and Renuvion?
Both tighten skin, but at different depths. Pixel8 uses radiofrequency microneedling to work on the surface layer. Renuvion works beneath the skin, applying energy to help the deeper tissue contract. Using them together treats laxity at two levels in one surgery.
Why does skin tightening matter after liposuction?
Liposuction removes fat, but the skin above it has to shrink to match. Good elasticity often handles that on its own. Skin stretched by weight changes or a prior procedure frequently needs help, which is where these technologies come in.
