Renuvion (formerly known as J-Plasma) is a skin-tightening procedure that is commonly used to firm the buttocks, thighs, neck, face, back, stomach, and upper arms. During the procedure, tiny incisions are made near the treatment area and then a special device is inserted into the incisions to deliver helium plasma energy to contract the skin and tighten underlying tissues.
While most patients report seeing immediate improvements after a Renuvion procedure, such as tighter and firmer skin, it commonly takes between six and nine months for the full effects to be visible. That’s because the procedure works to stimulate the production of collagen, which is a protein that provides structure to our skin, joints, and bones. About the Renuvion Procedure
The duration of a Renuvion procedure depends on the size of the treatment area and whether multiple areas are being treated. For most patients, it takes one to two hours. Patients are placed under general anesthesia for the procedure and are able to go home the same day. And, because it’s minimally invasive, the recovery period is relatively short with few side effects.
