About the Procedure
Blepharoplasty, the medical term for eyelid surgery, requires anesthesia and an outpatient visit to a surgery center. Thankfully, we have our own in-office surgery center here at Tampa Surgical Arts, so you won’t need to worry about traveling to a separate location. During the procedure, Dr. Bedi will:
- Make an incision in either the upper or lower eyelid
- Remove or reposition fat deposits, eliminate excess skin, and tighten any surrounding muscles
- Suture the incision(s) closed
Our team will provide detailed instructions about the recovery period, but, in general, you will be able to return to your normal activities within two weeks. You’ll experience swelling, bruising, dry eyes, and irritation, and we’ll tell you exactly how to take care of the procedure site in the coming days.
