Avéli™, a Method of Cellulite Correction, Offered in Tampa Bay
Cellulite may be a completely normal part of the human body, but many people would rather find a way to reduce it for smoother-looking skin. For years, the recommendation for cellulite correction has been diet and exercise, but this strategy doesn’t work for a large percentage of people. Fortunately, Tampa Surgical Arts offers Avéli™, a cellulite reduction treatment that is proven to work. We’re proud to be one of the few providers of this service in the Tampa Bay area.
How Avéli™ Reduces Cellulite
Cellulite is the dimpled skin appearance that commonly occurs on the buttocks and thighs. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has shown that the dimpled appearance of cellulite is caused by thickened fibrous bands, called septa, that connect the skin to deeper tissues. These bands pull the skin downwards, creating the dimpling effect. Avéli™ is the first and only cellulite procedure that identifies and releases the septa that cause cellulite dimples.
At Tampa Surgical Arts, triple-board-certified cosmetic surgeon Dr. Manik S. Bedi and aesthetic master injector Nina Vital, PA-C, perform this minimally invasive procedure using a handheld device that is designed to manually target and release the septa bands. While smoother skin in the procedure area is visible shortly after a single in-office procedure, Avéli™ also delivers a long-term reduction in the appearance of cellulite. Most patients can return to normal activities within 24-48 hours of undergoing the procedure.
What is Avéli™?
AvéliTM is the first and only cellulite procedure that identifies and releases the septa that cause cellulite dimples on the buttocks and thighs with a real-time confirmation of release – all in a single in-office visit. Avéli™ is a minimally invasive procedure performed by a trained provider using local anesthesia and delivers meaningful long-term results.1
What is Cellulite?
Cellulite is a depression of any shape or size seen on the surface of the skin, typically on the buttocks or thighs. A major underlying cause of cellulite are the fibrous bands that tether your skin to the structures below. These bands are called septa.
Will I need multiple sessions?
Avéli™ is designed to be a single, in-office procedure. During a single procedure your provider can fully treat the targeted cellulite dimples on both your buttocks and thighs with durable, long-term results.
How long does an Avéli™ procedure take?
A typical AvéliTM procedure will take around an hour, including local anesthesia and the procedure itself. Exact timing will vary depending on the personalized procedure plan from your provider.1
Is there any downtime after the procedure?
Little to none. In the clinical study, most patients returned to normal activities within 24-48 hours.2
Are there any side effects?
In the clinical study, the most common side effects reported were mild pain within the first 24 hours and bruising and tenderness to the touch which typically resolved within 30 days. Small areas of firmness, usually not visible or painful, typically resolved in a couple of months.
How quickly will I see improvement in my cellulite?
The results of your Avéli™ procedure should be visible once swelling and bruising subsides. By one month post-procedure you should start to see the effects of the procedure.2
How long will the results last?
Avéli™ is FDA-cleared for long-term reduction in the appearance of cellulite in the buttocks and thigh areas of adult females. Patients in the clinical study demonstrated a reduction in the appearance of their cellulite when assessed one year after the procedure.
